Over the years the Blaney PTA (formerly Blaney PTO) has grown into a very active group of parents, teachers and community members, providing wonderful opportunities for our children and the children still to come. None of this, and I mean NONE, could have been done without the time so freely given to our many efforts. The children and staff are rewarded every day in so many ways and now we want to reward you, the PTA volunteers, for your precious time.
The PTA helped to purchase our new sign in system. Using this great technology, we will be able to, with your cooperation, track your efforts and reward you with a list of benefits that we hope will grow and change over time.
All you need to do is sign in under PTO VOLUNTEER and sign out when you leave (the computer system still says PTO although we are now a PTA). It is very important to log your time under PTO VOLUNTEER as these are the only hours we will be tracking. If you spend time making phone calls, running errands, shopping for the Santa Shop, etc. you will either log this on the computer or contact the Volunteer Committee Chair with your outside hours. Each hour will earn you 1 point. (Note: after 30 minutes we will round up.) You choose how you want to spend your points. You can save your points for the big Parents Night Out or spend them on the smaller items. Your points will accumulate all year, but will be reset at the beginning of next year, so please take advantage of this list of perks as your reward.
This list will change as services are added and possibly deleted if there is no interest.

Super PTA Volunteer Window Cling – Each volunteer who logs 100 hours will receive this perk, even if they have “spent” their points.
Parents Night Out – This is our “biggie” and we hope it will help motivate volunteers. Periodically throughout the school year the PTA will sponsor a Parent’s Night Out in the multi-purpose room from 5:30 – 8 PM on a Friday night. No, it isn’t a late night, but it is a chance to have adult time and know your children are safe. Only those volunteers who have earned 25 points will be allowed to bring their children for an age appropriate movie, snack and games. Note that the children MUST be picked up by 8 PM or we will no longer be allowed to offer this benefit. The custodians lock the doors at 8 PM and everyone must be out of the building – and it just might be cold outside! You will need to sign up in advance and only the first 30 children will be able to attend. The children must be Blaney students and all of the Blaney students in your household will be covered by the 25 points. Not cousins, not visitors, only those that live in your household. The children will be fully supervised by adults and must be signed in and out. Again, keep you eyes on the PTA Paws for upcoming events.
